Every style is made of standard Unicode characters, so it survives copy and paste. Use it for a few words, not whole paragraphs, because screen readers and search handle styled characters poorly.

Frequently asked questions
How do I make text bold on Facebook?
Facebook has no bold button for normal posts and comments. The workaround is Unicode: type your text into this generator, copy the bold version and paste it into Facebook. The letters are special Unicode characters that look bold, so they keep their look anywhere plain text is accepted.
Does bold text work in Facebook posts, comments and bios?
Yes. Unicode bold and italic characters display in posts, comments, bios, group posts and Messenger, on desktop and in the mobile apps. On very old devices a character may show as an empty box if the system font does not include it.
Which text styles does the generator make?
Six: bold, italic, bold italic, serif bold, serif bold italic and monospace. Letters A to Z convert in every style. Numbers convert in the bold, serif bold and monospace styles and stay plain in the italic ones. Punctuation, emojis and accented letters are left as they are.
Is Unicode bold text bad for accessibility or search?
It can be. Screen readers may skip styled characters or read them out one symbol at a time, and Facebook search does not match them to the normal word. Use styled text for a short headline or a few words of emphasis, and keep the rest of the post in plain text.
Can I use bold text on other platforms?
Yes. The same characters work on Instagram, X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram and most other places that accept plain text, because the style is carried by the characters rather than by formatting.
Do I need an account or an app?
