Before you start

  1. 1

Click New Article and type a keyword

Once you are signed in to Made to Spark, click Article Generation on the left, then New Article at the top right. Here we write a post for a travel blog about Cusco.

    1. 1 Type what people search for, the way they type it (1). We used things to do in cusco. Already have a title? Type that instead.
    2. 2 Writing in another language? Pick it next to the box (2).
    3. 3 Look at the line under the box. It says whether it reads your words as a keyword or a title. Ours said title, so we clicked Suggest titles instead (3) to get title ideas.
The first step of a new article: things to do in cusco typed in the box, with a line underneath saying how it was read 1 2 3
Tip: Got a list of keywords? Click Several topics? Write them all at once above the box and put one on each line.
  2. 2

    Pick one of 3 titles

After a few seconds you see 3 titles written from your keyword. Each one says what kind of post it makes, like 7 ideas or a guide.

    1. 1 Click the one you like (1). To change its words, click Edit on it.
    2. 2 None you like? Click Other titles (2) for 3 more.
    3. 3 The cost shows at the bottom (3). It updates as you go, so you always know before you click.
    4. 4 Click Next: Shape (4).
Three title ideas for things to do in cusco, one picked, with the cost and the Next: Shape button 1 2 3 4
Tip: As soon as you pick a title, the outline starts being drafted in the background, so it is ready when you reach step 4.
  3. 3

    Check the shape we picked

Made to Spark picks these for your title. Change anything you like:

    1. 1 The kind of post (1). Listicle gives numbered ideas, each with its own photo, like ours. There is also a how-to guide, a recipe with ingredients and steps, and product picks with Amazon finds.
    2. 2 The length (2): how much to write under each heading.
    3. 3 The number of sections (3). It matches the number in your title: change one and the other follows.
    4. 4 The voice (4). Friendly is warm and personal, like most blogs.
Shape your article: Listicle, Standard length, 7 sections and a Friendly voice, picked for the title 1 2 3 4 Notes for the writer
Notes for the writer: who the post is for, and the blogger’s own experience in Cusco 1 2
Under More options: a line or two of your own makes the post sound like you
Tip: Click More options to tell the writer who the post is for (1) and what you know first-hand (2). We wrote that the altitude hit on day one, and the outline got a section called Coca Tea and an Early Night. Then click Next: Outline. In a hurry? Write it now skips the last two steps.
  4. 4

    Check the outline

These are the headings your post will have, one per section. The post follows this plan, so this is the best moment to steer it:

    1. 1 Drag the dots (1) to change the order.
    2. 2 Click a heading (2) to type over it.
    3. 3 Click the round arrows (3) for a different heading.
    4. 4 Click × (4) to take a section out.
    5. 5 Want one more? Click Add section (5).
    6. 6 Click Next: Images & links (6).
Check your outline: the title and seven numbered section headings for the Cusco post 1 2 3 4 5 6
  5. 5

Choose photos and links, then click Write the article

The last step. The photos are picked for you too, marked Best for this article:

    1. 1 Real photos (1) come from photo libraries like Pexels. They suit real places, like Cusco.
    2. 2 AI images (2) are drawn for each section, so they show exactly what it says: good for food, decor or ideas that are hard to find in a photo.
    3. 3 How many (3): one in every section gives you the most photos for your pins later.
    4. 4 Links (4): switch on links to your other posts (with WordPress connected), Amazon products, or your own shop and LTK links.
    5. 5 Check the summary (5).
    6. 6 Click Write the article (6).
Images and links: Real photos picked as best for this article, one in every section, the links switches and the summary 1 2 3 4 5 6
  6. 6

Wait about a minute, then read it through

Your post opens straight away and fills in as it is written. You can leave the page: it keeps going. Ours took about a minute.

    1. 1 The top line (1) shows that every section and photo is there.
    2. 2 Read it like your readers will. To change words, click Edit text (2), then click a heading to type over it, or a paragraph to open the editor with bold, lists and links. Click Done when you finish.
    3. 3 Don’t like a photo? Click the round arrows under it to get another, or the bin to remove it.
The new post being written: Generating text, 0 of 7 sections and 0 of 7 images so far
    The finished post: 7 of 7 sections, 7 of 7 images and 1,274 words 1 2
The finished post: 7 sections, 7 photos, about 1,300 words
Tip: Add a sentence or two of your own, like a tip from your trip or a photo you took. It is the quickest way to make the post yours.
  7. 7

Put it on your blog, then make pins

With WordPress connected (click Integrations on the left to connect it once):

    1. 1 Click Publish to WordPress (1) at the top of the post.
    2. 2 Leave Status on Draft (2) so you can look at it on your site first. Upload images and featured image are on already.
    3. 3 Click Publish (3). Then open the draft in WordPress, check it and publish it there.
The Publish to WordPress window: the blog chosen, Draft ticked, images uploaded, and the Publish button 1 2 3 Any other blog
Tip: Blog on Blogger, Squarespace or anything else? Click Copy Article and paste it into a new post: the photos come with it. Download saves it as HTML or Markdown.

    Now make pins for it

Your post’s photos make the pins. Click Generate Pins at the top of the post, then Templates (1). That uses the photos in ready-made pin designs, so they look like your post.

The Generate Pins window: Templates, recommended, or AI Generated 1
    1. 1 Click Several pins (1).
    2. 2 Your post’s photos are in the row underneath (2). Tap × on any you want to leave out.
    3. 3 The headline (3) is your post’s title. Change it here and it changes on every pin.
    4. 4 Scroll down and tap the designs you like, up to 5. A chosen one gets a tick.
    5. 5 Click Make 3 pins at the bottom (it counts the designs you chose). They are made in about a minute and wait for you in My Pins. Schedule them once your post is live, so each pin can send people to it.
Several pins chosen: the post's seven photos in a row and the headline used on every pin 1 2 3
A pin design filled with the Cusco photos, ticked to show it is chosen Chosen

Questions

Who can use Article Generation?

Bloggers. If you told us you run a blog when you signed up, Article Generation is in the menu on the left. Don’t see it? Reply to any email from us and we will help.

How many credits does a post use?

It depends on the length and the photos: our 7-section post with 7 real photos used 5. The cost shows at the bottom of every step, split into the writing and the images, so you always know before you click Write the article.

I closed the page halfway. Is my article lost?

No. Come back within 12 hours, click New Article, and you are back where you were, with your title, choices and outline kept. Click Start over for a fresh one.

What if something goes wrong?

If a section or photo does not come through, the top line of the post shows fewer than all of them, for example 6/7 images. Click the round arrows under a photo to try another. Still stuck? Use the chat button at the bottom right.

Publish to WordPress says it failed. Why?

Usually a security plugin, like Wordfence, is blocking the connection. Allow application passwords in that plugin, or use Copy Article and paste the post into WordPress yourself.

Can I write in another language?

Yes. Pick the language next to the keyword box in the first step, where it says EN. The titles, outline and post are all written in that language.

Stuck on a step? Just reply to any email from us, or use the chat button at the bottom right.
